Jesus Calms the Storm
Jesus Calms the Storm depicts the night Jesus and His disciples were crossing the Sea of Galilee when a furious storm overtook their boat. As waves crashed over them and the disciples feared for their lives, Jesus remained asleep until they woke Him, crying out for help.
Jesus rose, rebuked the wind, and commanded the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” At once, the wind ceased and the sea became completely calm. He then turned to His disciples and asked, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” (Mark 4:35–41).
The small boat surrounded by an immense, dark sea captures the fear and helplessness the disciples must have felt that night—a powerful reminder that even when the storm feels greater than us, it is never greater than Him.
